Technical Director, Adam Bointon, took his expertise to the digital stage on 12 November as part of our partnership with 2020 Innovation, a leader in CPD and training in the accountancy sector.

Supporting 2020 Innovation’s CPD offering, Adam hosted his “R&D Claims – Staying Smart, Compliant and Profitable” webinar to provide an update on the current legislation from the perspective of compliance and profit.

Designed to offer support and advice to accountancy firms and tax teams, the webinar addressed:

  • The R&D framework for periods commencing before and after 1 April 2024
  • The new Additional Information Form (AIF)
  • The newly merged R&D scheme
  • R&D intensive companies
  • HMRC enquiries into R&D claims – what to expect and how to handle them
  • A client case study.

It was also an opportunity for accountants to ask their burning questions and find out more about working with a dedicated consultancy firm to prepare client R&D tax claims.

With a focus on profitability as well as compliance, Adam supported firms looking to make a smart commercial move by adopting R&D tax as a service.

Working with 2020 Innovation

We’ve partnered with 2020 Innovation to support CPD and education around R&D tax for the accountancy sector.

This is an important time to share up-to-date information about the legislation around R&D tax, as significant changes come into force. We also expect claim numbers to rise over the next few years as investment from the Government targets growth in innovative sectors.

We’re proud to work with the team at 2020 Innovation to enhance informed awareness of the scheme as we head towards 2025 – helping accountancy firms benefit from this growing market and develop a profitable service line.
