“R&D tax credits have helped us procure some new equipment and refurbish the existing workshop.”
Outwork Jewellery Services Ltd initially specialised in refurbishing, redesigning, resizing, and repairing jewellery from their state-of-the-art factory in Birmingham’s world-renowned jewellery sector, and have recently added the bespoke design and manufacture of custom jewellery to the list of services they offer. They have successfully been awarded R&D tax credits through the service of randd.
The company’s diversification into the bespoke design and manufacture of custom jewellery market has allowed them to offer a complete first-class jewellery design and manufacturing service from their state-of-the-art premises in Birmingham’s prestigious jewellery quarter.
When creating new products, Outwork Jewellery used R&D techniques such as building prototypes and trialling to perfect processes and dedicated time to mastering new manufacturing techniques such as laser engraving. It was after investing in R&D that an employee at Outwork Jewellery became aware of the R&D Tax Credit scheme and approached randd.
The money received from the claim was used towards a new laser engraving machine which enables a variety of engraving designs, such as fingerprints, images and text onto all types and shapes of jewellery.
Michael Lines, Director at Outwork Jewellery, commented: “R&D tax credits have helped us procure some new equipment and refurbish the existing workshop.”
